This step-by-step house drawing tutorial will show you how to create your own simple home in no time. Whether you are a beginner who wants to add some cute art doodles to your bullet journal or a parent wanting to teach their kid to draw, this tutorial is for everyone!

Before we get started on the house drawing, please make sure you have some basic drawing supplies on hand. This includes drawing pencils, erasers, and a sketching pad. If you already have all these things, then you are good to go.

If you want to color your house at the end, you will need some coloring pencils.

How to Draw a House

Houses are one of the most popular things people want to learn how to draw. While there are lots of fun ways to color a house, we will use a cream house with a red roof for this tutorial. If you would like to use any other color, feel free to do so!

To follow along with this house drawing guide, please refer to the blue lines. The blue lines indicate which step you are on. For example, brown lines show what you should have already drawn (not including the first step), and the blue line will be what you should be drawing at that moment.

Easy House Drawing Step-by-Step Tutorial

It is now time to begin the house drawing! Follow the steps below to make your own cute houses. Enjoy!

Step 1: Draw the Outline of Your House

Draw the main outline for your house. You can make it taller or wider as you see fit.

Step 2: Draw a Rooftop

Draw the roof of your home. The roof should follow the same angle as the top of the house.

Step 3: Draw a Door and Doorknob

Include a door in the middle of your house.

Step 4: Draw Two Windows

Draw two symmetrical windows on either side of the door.

Step 5: Draw Some Window Panes

Add two lines that are perpendicular to one another on each of the windows.

Step 6: Draw a Round Window

Outline a circular window above the front entrance door.

Step 7: Draw a Window Pane for the Round Window

Add a windowpane.

Step 8: Draw a Chimney

Draw the chimney of your home. You can choose to put one on whichever side you choose.

Step 9: You’re Finished!

You are now done with your house drawing! Wasn’t it easy?

Step 10: Color Your House In (Optional)
