If you’re anything like me, you enjoy a coffee every single morning without fail. There is something just so calming about a quiet morning (perhaps with a little HGTV in the background) and coffee that really prepares you for the day. It’s even better when your morning routine produces eco friendly coffee. Personally, I enjoy making my coffee in a french press or moka pot. The latter being the one I end up using the most. The ritual helps me keep a clear head.
So, when I am ready to begin my work, I am able to do so with a new found motivation! However, sometimes we run late and want a quick fix without the guilt of contributing K-cups to the landfills. That is where this awesome Keurig hack for eco friendly coffee does into play.
Eco Friendly Coffee K-cup Hack
For those of you who don’t know, traditional K-Cups are absolutely terrible for the environment. They are made with layers of plastic and foil in order to survive the Keurig brewing process. This means that there isn’t a way to recycle them and they are not biodegradable.
At first I tried to look up Keurig cups that could be disposed of responsibly. Luckily, I stumbled upon a reusable K-Cup that you can re-fill with fresh coffee each time you use it!
I seriously cannot even put into words how excited I am about this. Not only do I feel better morally, I can put my own favorite coffee beans into this filter! I don’t know about you guys, but I have had a difficult time finding high quality coffee K-Cups. They’re weak and flat out awful!
My Favorite Brewing Methods
If you aren’t in a rush though, I will always recommend making a ritual each morning out of making coffee the RIGHT WAY. In my world, that means by using either a French press or a moka pot and then grinding your own coffee beans.  It takes a little bit longer, but the difference is night and day.
