SheaMoisture African Black Soap products are a line of activated charcoal treatments for dry skin. I tried out their body scrub, face wash and more, then reviewed my experience with each one below. Â The ingredients included in these product are fair trade and natural.
Knowing I have dry skin, I surprise people when I tell them I get hormonal acne on certain days. I will never understand the struggle of getting acne with oily skin. However, I am sure those of you in the same boat as me know how hard it is to remove acne without getting parched skin.
I tend to stay away from really strong products from the drugstore (especially since they burn my eyes!). Like to search for more natural alternatives. After testing out SheaMoisture African Black Soap, I can say they did a great job of reducing my acne flare up without the need for a ton of moisturizer afterwards. Read my reviews below, and if you’d like some budget beauty products that really work, then have a look at these.
Bamboo Charcoal Foaming Facial Wash W/Aloe
It surprised me that this wash actually got most of my makeup off in only two pumps! The first time I tried it I accidentally used way too much and probably wasted some product. I think my favorite aspects of this foaming wash was that it didn’t sting my eyes and it was super easy to rinse off. Seriously, some products take A LOT of work to get off my face.
Bamboo Charcoal Body Scrub W/Tea Tree oil
I had never before heard of a body scrub that actually helps with acne so I was curious to see how this would work out. At first I just tested it on my hands to make sure it wasn’t too drying, and wow did my hands feel clean afterwards! This is definitely going to be a life saver for anyone who struggles with back acne.
Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Micellar Water W/Aloe
This product was nice and refreshing and reminded me of the Thayers Witch Hazel products I adore. I wish this came with a spray so I could apply it more easily. For the time being I will use a cotton pad. : )
Daily Glow Priming Moisturizer
If primers or any ‘extra’ products that come before makeup tend to egg on your acne, I highly recommend this. I’ve never had my face keep that clean feeling from cleansing once a primer had been applied-until now. I really love that there is coconut oil in this as that has definitely been a staple in my routine and helps to fight acne!
I’ll definitely keep using this over the next few months around that special time. I love having such a squeaky clean feeling without the dryness! If you have any questions about SheaMoisture African Black Soap, then feel free to shoot me an e-mail or comments. 🙂
