Do They Work?
Yes! I have been enjoying these reusable paper towels quite a bit. Until now, I had replaced paper towels with small rags and regular Swedish dishcloths.
Papaya dishcloths have been putting both of those methods to shame. They are more absorbent and look so much better in my kitchen.
One-Year Update: After using Papaya Reusables for an extended period, I have come to really appreciate their ability to save me money. I also can’t get over how cute they are!
I love that I can throw them in the top rack of my dishwasher with my regular dishload and have a clean towel for the next day.
How to Use Papaya Towels
- Wet the cloth to make it flexible.
- Wipe up the mess.
- Rinse it until clean.
- Hang it to dry.
Optional: Add your favorite cleaner after wetting.
What Papaya Towels Are Made Of
Each Papaya Reusable cloth comprises 70% cellulose and 30% cotton, making them quick-drying and compostable.
How Long Papaya Paper Towels Will Last
Since just one sheet can replace 17 traditional paper towel rolls, it should last 2-3 months. If you diligently clean your paper towel and typically only clean up light messes, it can last as long as nine months!
Papaya Reusables vs Regular Paper Towels

Papaya Reusables:
- All-natural and 100% compostable
- Replace 17 rolls of paper towels
- Anti-bacterial, meaning they won’t smell!
- Many functions, including as a paper towel, dish towel, and napkin

Traditional Paper Towels:
- One-time use and detrimental to the environment
- Accumulate bacteria
- May contain harmful chemicals
- Can disintegrate if too much moisture is introduced
Where to Hang Your Papaya Cloth
There are many convenient places to hang your Papaya cloth. I tend to keep mine in areas that require frequent cleaning, such as the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.
Here are my favorite areas to hang my Papaya dishcloths:
- On the kitchen backsplash
- On a kitchen cabinet (make sure your cabinets aren’t prone to scuffing and scratching)
- Next to the kitchen sink
- On the bathroom mirror
- The bathroom shower door
- In the laundry room
Ways to Use Your Papaya Cloth
- Clean your kitchen counters
- Wipe up accidents & spills
- Wash the dishes
- Clean bathroom sink & vanity
- As cute paper napkins during meals
- Clean windows

Cleaning Papaya Reusables
For quick daily cleaning, simply soap and rinse your reusable paper towel in the sink and hang it while it dries.
To clean an extra dirty towel, throw it in the washing machine with your laundry or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher during a cleaning cycle. As always, hang to dry.

These papaya reusables are AMAZING! I’m addicted… the quality is unmatched and I literally find myself not using disposable paper towels AT ALL anymore

Not a gimmick – I bought my first set 6 months ago and have been on the 2 month subscription plan since. My new ones come, I compost my old ones and keep the cycle going. Obsessed with the hook feature, way more convenient than hanging them over the faucet.

I’ve personally had a bunch of different Swedish dishcloths, and these feel different. They’re a lot better quality than ones I’ve used.. And the convenient built in place to hang it is a game changer. Once you use it with a hook, its hard to go back to any swedish dishcloth without the hook/hole
