How to use the SheaMoisture beauty hack line for the best DIY gifts ever!

Mother’s Day is coming up and it probably has many of you living in fear. I mean, how do you impress the woman who knows all your tricks and stunts? Although your mother might not know everything about you, she generally knows what to expect from you concerning your Mother’s Day gift giving habits. This means we have to step our game up with a little DIY.

DIYs are a special kind of gift that say, “Hey, I didn’t just buy this last minute at the store” and leave a lasting impression. While DIYs can be intimidating sometimes, they don’t have to be and SheaMoisture is on a mission to prove that to everyone!

So forget wandering around the grocery store trying to figure out where ingredients are located and focus on what kind of quality ingredients you would like to incorporate into your little DIY.

Desert Skin Scrub

What You’ll Need:

  • 4 Tablespoons of Beauty Hack Body Sugar Scrub
  • 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Avocado Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Raw Shea Butter
  • 2 drops of Frankincense & Myrrh Oil

In case you’re clumsy like me, no worries, these come with droppers! : P

Since I put quite a bit of avocado oil in this, I went ahead and took off the top and used my measuring spoon.

Simply put everything in your bowl and mix it all up! On a side note, I have to say this scrub mixed into the most heavenly consistency. I took advantage of the leftovers being stuck to the bowl and used some on my hands. I couldn’t resist and I feel no regret! My hands felt sooo silky smooth afterwards.

Oil Sucking Clay Mask

So, I do not have oily skin by any means and while this kind of mask is usually used by those who have a lot of oil, I still thought it worked wonders for cleaning my dry skin.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon Beauty Hack Face + Body + Hair Aztec Bentonite Clay
  • 1 Tablespoon of 100% Pure Macadamia Oil (The SheaMoisture site says to use a teaspoon, but hey, I’ve got dry skin!)
  • 1 Drop of Lemongrass Fragrance Oil
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Water

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix it all up to form a paste.

To Use:

Apply paste to your face, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse.

The Milky Face & Body Cleanser

You know it’s a good day when you make a DIY that can cleanse your face, body AND hair! As expected, I made my recipe nice and moisturizing. ♥

What You’ll Need:

  • 4 Tablespoons of Body + Hair Cleanser
  • 2 Tablespoons of 100% Pure Avocado Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of 100% Pure Coconut Oil
  • 1 Drop of Rose Oil

Now mix it all up!

Look at that milky consistency! Ahh. : )


All that’s left to do now is put it all into a cute container and wrap it up. Seriously, that’s it! This was so much easier than going to the health foods store and sorting through all of the products. Plus, SheaMoisture provides recipe guides both on the packaging and their website which is really convenient.
