If you’ve ever seen the show Fixer Upper, you understand the obsession and the struggle when it comes time to drool over the downright amazing transformations Joanna and Chip create. Sometimes it feels like designs of this level are impossible to recreate yourself, especially on a budget.
Luckily, farmhouse decor is actually pretty frugal to pull off, especially if you are willing to put forth the effort and do a little DIY here and there. Here some some of the best Rustic DIY farmhouse projects I’ve seen and I hope they help you along with your personal Fixer Upper journey!
Be Grateful Pallet Art
Pallet art is such a unique and personal way to style your home by adding your favorite quotes or phrases. There are so many options when it comes to font and wood that there’s no way you’re going to run into one that looks like yours.
Chalkboard Calendar
If you tend to get bored of the same calendar design, try making a chalkboard. You have the freedom to customize it any which way you’d like each month and it adds such a warm touch to your home.
Paint Stick Basket
Get some color going on; it’ll really pop when surrounded by all the brown decor you’ve got going on. To take it a step further, mix up the texture to create an interesting space.
Hanging Flower Holder
Sometimes it’s the little touches that count. Fill up your empty spaces with some hanging plants in farmhouse inspired containers.
Galvanized Bucket
Fonts are everything. You can create so many different moods based only on the font you use. Add some more character by incorporating colors that fit the vibe you’re trying to give off.
Hanging Wire Planter
These DIY planters are amazing because they’re really easy to clean and you can make pretty much any plant look good in it.
Mason Jar Sconce
Along with mixing up textures, mixing up shapes is a great idea for any space. It adds a lot of interest to the room and you can easily encourage your guests eyes to move along the room the way you choose.
Corbel Sconce Light
Need some lights around your bed but lack the space for a nightstand? Forget the extra bulky furniture and hang some dainty DIY lights like these. They add a ton of character and have a minimalist appeal to them, which is very rare in the rustic decor category.
A farmhouse look is such a desirable feature to have in your home right now and there’s no reason to spend a lot of money on it. Not only do you get a bunch of character when you choose DIY projects over ready to go items, you get your own personal touch to your home. Isn’t that what we all want?
