Description

If you’re anything like me, you know that the best cookies are the ones that spark a little bit of childhood nostalgia—and maybe a hint of playful mischief. That’s exactly what inspired these Cookie Monster Cookies, a whimsical treat that’s as fun to make as it is to eat! Imagine a buttery, soft cookie dough, tinted that iconic blue and loaded with melty chocolate chips, crunchy Chips Ahoy pieces, and irresistible Oreo chunks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ¼ cups brown sugar
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup chips ahoy chocolate chip cookie pieces
  • ½ cup oreo pieces
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Blue Food Dye

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix together until combined.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Blend together again until smooth.
  4. Dye the wet ingredients with a generous amount of blue dye to get a deep blue color. Mix until the color is evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the flour, baking soda and salt into the wet ingredients and fold together with a rubber spatula until a thick dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, crushed oreos, and crushed chocolate chip cookie pieces mixing them until incorporated in the cookie dough.
  7. Cover this bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill.
  8. Use a large scooper to scoop large balls of cookie monster cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Top the dough balls with extra oreo and chocolate chip cookie pieces.
  9. Bake in the oven for 14 minutes until puffy. Remove from the oven and let cool and finish baking outside the oven for a few minutes
  10. Serve and enjoy while still warm!
