Description

These Blueberry Cream Cheese Pastries start with a package of buttery puff pastry dough, making them as easy as they are impressive. The filling is a dreamy duo: a rich, tangy cream cheese layer (just cream cheese and sugar!) topped with a homemade blueberry compote that’s as vibrant as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Puff Pastry Dough

Blueberry Filling

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9×11 baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries, ½ cup white sugar, cornstarch, and water. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and 1 cup white sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry dough and spread the cream cheese mixture all over the dough.
  5. Then top with the blueberry mixtures. Cut it into large triangles.
  6. Fold the triangle in half to create a smaller triangle, enclosing the filling.
  7. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  8. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
