Equipment

  • 9×9 Baking Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Piping Bags

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Bake Time: 40 minutes

Yield: 8 brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, browned
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all purpose flour

Frosting

  • 3/44 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • Pink Food Dye

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter: in a bowl, combine ½ cup browned unsalted butter and 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Mix in 1 cup white granulated sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, and ½ teaspoon salt. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in ½ cup cocoa powder and ½ cup all-purpose flour. Fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely before removing from the pan.
  7. Cut the 8×8 cooled brownie slab in half horizontally. Cut each half into triangles to create the shape of Santa hats.
  8. Prepare the buttercream frosting: in a bowl, beat ¾ cup softened unsalted butter and 8 ounces softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Gradually add 5 cups powdered sugar, beating until fully incorporated. Separate some of the white frosting and then take the rest and mix in pink food dye until the desired color is reached.
  10. Transfer the frosting into 2 piping bags, snipping a hole in the end of both, making the pink bag’s hole slightly larger than the white frosting bag.
  11. Pipe white frosting along the base of each brownie triangle and a small dollop at the top to resemble Santa hat trim and pom-pom.
  12. Then fill the middle with the pink frosting.
  13. Top with holiday sprinkles and serve the frosted Santa hat brownies. Enjoy!
