Are you ready for the best laundry room hacks?
While most of us dream of having the most awesome laundry room ever, we just don’t know how to get ours to that certain level of amazing. We have stuff everywhere, we’ve got lint on the floor, there isn’t enough storage, etc. Luckily, there are tons of laundry room hacks that can help you take up less space and even make doing laundry cheaper. Heck, maybe if there is enough money saved, you could even upgrade some of the stuff in your laundry room. If this sounds good to you, check out these laundry room hacks. You’ll love them!
Space Saving Drying Rack
While most of our laundry can just be thrown in the dryer, there are those nice pieces you couldn’t resist buying even though they’re hang dry only. Since putting your clothes outside could potentially make your clothes dirty again, hang them inside your laundry room.
My favorite part of this DIY hanging rack is that it can go flat against the wall so it isn’t using up space when nothing is hanging on it.
When I am working on something, I prefer to have all my tools right next to me. If you put all your stuff on a cart like this, it makes it easy to access everything and then put the cart away once you don’t need it anymore.
DIY Dryer Balls
If your clothes tend to come out with a lot of static (which is typical downside of dryer climates), make some dryer balls. They’re life-changing!
DIY Dryer Sheets
Add a lovely sent to your clothes on the cheap with a DIY dryer sheet. What makes these awesome is that no harsh chemicals need to be used.
DIY Laundry Detergent
Looking for a money hack? Save yourself loads of money on your loads (haha) by making your out detergent.
Mini Ironing Board
Personally, I find regular ironing boards way to large and awkward. I also tend to pinch myself a lot when I am attempting to set them up.
If you have the same problem, try making a smaller board. Your fingers will thank you.
I wish I could just make a turntable for everything. Yes, I am that lazy.
Washer and Dryer Storage
If you don’t have any space on top or around your dryer, try under!
Hangers are super awkward in the laundry room, especially if you try hanging them above your appliances. For me, they always end up falling in the cracks. Ugh!
Lavender Laundry Sponges
If you’d like an awesome alternative to dryer sheets altogether, try using those extra cheapo sponges you bought a month ago to make a beautiful scent.
Space Saving Hangers
Once you’ve taken your hangers off of your new DIY hanger holder, you still need a way to hang the the actual clothes. This awesome little device allows you to open it up when you need it and just push it closed when you don’t.
I seriously can never find my change jars, which really sucks because I like trading them in for bills at Coin Star.
Just stick your change container to a giant board and how could you possibly lose it?
Peg Board Organizer
My favorite thing about peg boards is just how modular they really are. Our needs tend to change over time so you can always redo the organization on the board easily.
Lint Trash Holder
Since it’s super hard sometimes to fit a trash can into a small laundry room, just use a small container that can close easily. This way your lint won’t go flying everywhere.
Laundry Pod Holder
Keep your laundry pods away from your children to keep them save. Seriously, some of the stuff we buy from the store is super toxic.
Sock Pairing Reminder
It’s true that the dryer eats our socks. At least it is kind enough to return them eventually. So when they show up again, you can now be ready.
Wall Mounted Organizer
Keep your most used laundry and cleaning tools against the wall to maximize space.
Laundry on Wheels
If you have hard floors, save yourself a lot of clumsy fumbling around by adding wheels to your hamper.
If an air tight container is a bit too inconvenient for you, try making a cute dispenser to save you some stress.
There are so many genius ways to make your laundry duty easier. My personal favorite from ths list of laundry room hacks is the lint bin. Since I have cats, my litter box is in the laundry room and it can make a huge mess. Mix that with lint and it’s a catastrophe (get it?)! My cats even like to steal the lint sometimes and put it in their litter box.
